Sally Struthers to Star in 'The Full Monty' at Gateway After 'Dear Evan Hansen' Cancellation
Sally Struthers, renowned for her role as Mrs. Peacock in "Clue," is set to return to Gateway in Bellport for the spring production of "The Full Monty." Running from March 13 to April 12, Struthers will portray Jeanette Burmeister, a vibrant former performer who guides a group of out-of-work steelworkers attempting to earn money through stripping, although she remains fully dressed. This role is a favorite for Struthers, who has previously performed it multiple times in regional theater. The choice of "The Full Monty" comes after the cancellation of the anticipated "Dear Evan Hansen" due to rights issues. Gateway's artistic director, Paul Allan, expressed that bringing back "The Full Monty" was a logical decision since it has consistently been a popular option. Struthers, who gained fame as Gloria Stivic in "All in the Family," has a rich history with Gateway, having starred in several productions over the years.
